It is surprising that Every Road Led Here is his first solo recording for Kane is already a mature and fully-formed artist with a musical personality of his own.” - Scott Yanow

Brian Kane

Master of the Great American Songbook

Announcing the release of Every Road Led Here- the solo debut album from vocal master of the Great American Songbook Brian Kane

Brian Kane is perhaps the busiest jazz musician in New England performing in excess of 300 live private concerts each year featuring his vocals, saxophone, and renown storytelling and history of Great American Songbook.  He is the author of five books for music educators, dozens of published articles, and has been featured in magazines like Saxophone Journal, Choral Educator, Jazz Educators Journal, Music Teacher International, and Jazz Ed. He is a veteran performer with over 3000 gigs as a top contract sideman and over 2000 as a leader.

Brian is finally releasing his first solo effort featuring both his original music and lyrics and his unique style of vocal improvisation using improvised poetry instead of syllables. His all-star veteran band features Ben Cook on Piano, John Wilson on Guitar, Bob Nieske on Bass, and James Lattini on Drums.  The recording features six of Brian’s originals songs and three reimagined hits from the 1920’s. The concept for the album and inspiration for the song Every Road Led Here is the perceived helplessness that entire families, Brian’s included, face daily when dealing opioid addiction and its consequences.
